Pre-Expo Workshop
Market Your Booth
Two hours. Thirty vendors. One message that brings couples to your booth instead of the one next to it. Taught by Matt Headley, Plainspoken Blueprint.
Next session: Anniston, AL — October 4, 2026 — 10am–12pm · Anniston Museum of Natural History · 30 spots max
The real problem
Most vendors spend money on their booth. Zero on their message.
A couple walks up to your booth. You have about eight seconds before their eyes move to the next table. In those eight seconds, they're asking one question: is this for me?
Most vendors answer that question with a business name and a logo. Couples don't care about either one. They care about what they're getting, if it's what they need, and whether they can afford it.
This workshop builds the message that answers those three questions before they have to ask.
What you'll build
Five things done in two hours
Why most booth marketing fails
Vendors spend money on signage and swag. Couples walk past anyway. The reason has nothing to do with budget. We'll name it, then fix it.
One sentence. One message.
You'll leave with a single sentence that says what you do, who it's for, and why they should care. Not a tagline. A closer.
QR strategy: what to say when they scan
Most QR codes lead nowhere useful. Yours will lead somewhere specific — a page that continues the conversation the right way.
Pre-show social: 3 posts that work
Three posts that tell couples exactly why to find you on the floor. Not hype. Specific invitations to a specific offer.
Post-show follow-up: the first message
The follow-up most vendors send gets ignored. We'll write the one that doesn't — and you'll send it before the show is over.

Matt Headley
Matt Headley is the founder of Plainspoken Blueprint — a messaging practice that helps small businesses say what they do in words their customers actually understand.
He has run the Alabama Wedding Expo since 2025. Before that, he spent fifteen years in pastoral ministry, built a farm from nothing, and pitched software to investors who said no. He learned most of what he knows about messaging from the times it failed.
The Plainspoken Blueprint exists because clever doesn't close. Clear does.
Common questions
Before you register
When does the workshop run?
The next session is October 4, 2026 — 10am to 12pm at the Anniston Museum of Natural History. Two weeks before the Alabama Wedding Expo.
Who is this for?
Confirmed exhibitors at an upcoming Alabama Wedding Expo. You don't need a big marketing budget or an existing social following. You need a booth and a willingness to be direct.
What do I need to bring?
Your phone, something to write with, and an honest answer to: what do you do, and who is it for? That's it. No prep required.
Will there be upsells or pitches inside the workshop?
No. You paid $99 for two hours of work. That's what you get. Matt mentions Plainspoken Blueprint once at the start and once at the end. Everything in between is for you.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancellations 72+ hours before the workshop get a full refund. Less than 72 hours: credit toward the next session. The recording is not for sale — showing up is the product.
I'm not doing the Alabama Wedding Expo. Can I still attend?
The curriculum works for any event-based business. If spots are open, you're welcome. Contact matt@plainspokenblueprint.com to ask.
